Weekend in Bourges
Vanessa was very excited to be in this happening big city!
In search of Brit Hotel, two happy campers in the sun
Found it!
Vanessa decided to celebrate by having a beer in the shower
Easier said than done, the bottles were un-openable...
Our gorgeous view - could stand here for hours just looking out at the magnificent grey asphalt.
After a quick walk to the only supermarket in all of Bourges, we picked up a real bottle opener and started the festivities!
After an episode of my new favourite show we went to cheer on Etienne at Le Hublot
Woke up the next day and decided to go for a cocktail breakfast
Buffalo Grill's Piña Colada gets two thumbs up!
... and then spent two hours on the floor of a very cold train station.
the train back to our dear Paris finally arrived, woho!
I <3 aussies
I couldn't tell you when it started, but for a longer period of time now, I've had a thing for australia (and it's people). I've always dreamed of going, and the accent makes me melt in about 2 seconds..
that's why I'm very excited on this particular day - because, dan dan daaaaa.... it's Australia day! Woop woop! Let's PARTY!
Another exciting tuesday night
The few nights that I don't spend out on big adventures I like to cuddle up on the couch with various movies and series. Tonight the following is on the agenda:
(anyone who can guess all three gets a kiss!)
Do not laugh at the natives
A couple of years ago me and Linda stumbled upon an exhibition of funny signs found around the world, looked through a bunch of old pics today and felt I had to share some of them with you, my darlings.
Enjoy!
The come back
Yesterday was an absolutely gorgeous winters day, and the first time in a while now that I've slowly begun feeling somewhat like myself again. So look out folks - I'm on my way back!
Working most of the day and then finishing off the week amongst smiley, lovely people was just what I needed. Sangria at a crowded bar, beers at the moose, shots at WOS and afterparty to top it off.
A tad more quiet tonight, babysitting the cutest 1 year old I know, listening to her calmly dream away in her crib while nibbling on a slice of pizza. (me, not her)
It's good to be me today.
Why?
... do people in movies about the future always wear black leather? Why is it that the only movie I've managed to see in VO on french tv is I Robot? And also, why have I managed to see it twice? On the same channel. In less than two months. All these big questions flying around on this quiet thursday night.
The pics have nothing to do with the text, just a couple of snaps of great people around me. Now, back to black leather and cheesy dialogue. Laters
Enter the void
These latest couple of days have left me feeling... weird. Bad weird. I've woken up every day, looking out on a sunny sky and the only thing I've wanted to do is bury myself deep under the covers again.
I'm doing all I can to feel better, but that strange, tingeling, unsettling feeling is still there.
I'm just gonna hide here under my hood until something makes me feel better.
Doubt
This song suits me absolutely perfect today. Unfortunately for you non-swedes, you won't be able to understand the beautiful lyrics.
But listen anyway!
Det kallas tvivel, det där som stör
Det kallas för en klump i magen och ett konstigt humör
....
Det känns tomt, eller hur?
Sunday field trip
Me and roomie Moko spent the afternoon very much enjoying ourselves, at Ikea - really feels like going back to stockholm for a while. Love it! It took ages to get there (went too far with the metro and then had to go all the way out to the airport to get another train followed by a bus, phew), and I was very disappointed to learn that they didn't have potatoes with the meatballs - so we had to get it with french fries instead, grr...
other than that - lovely day! Now - The penguins of Madagascar, accompanied by Ahlgrens bilar and my new smelly candles. Night night lovers!
Dancing shoes
Saturday night turned out very well - met up with dear friend Duncan for some drinks at mine, then we headed to Bizz'art which surprisingly, was just around the corner from me! Listened to a cool gig and saw people getting their hair cut on stage. It was great to go to an actual club and dance the night away, it's been waaay too long.
Now off for some typical sunday activities (in the sun! yay!) - Ikea!
So much for an early night in
Last night the plan was to go down to metro bar, say hi to Orlando, have a drink or two and then go home and crash relatively early. An unknown number of beers, a bowl of nachos, a dog bite (!), a bag of mussels and some very interesting conversation later it was suddenly 6 in the morning. Oops...
Friday night update
Not feeling on top today, so this friday nights adventures will be in le quartier. Metro bar where darling Orlando organizes events with live music every friday, very cool.
Last night was spent at Thomas' and lilla Vinyles, lovely : )
Ciao for now babes!
Classics
I spent yesterday working the early hours and then - quite manically - cleaning and rearranging the apartment. So for the sake of balance, I'm spending today doing absolutely nothing. Slept in, am now awaiting food and then maybe a movie or something along that line.
This was probably the most boring post so far. Haha. That's how exciting this grey friday is at mine, but I guess those kind of days are allowed as well.
Will be back when I have something more exciting to share, bisou 'til then my darlings
gotta love Judy & Fred
(not to forget my first love - Gene!)
Back in black
Back in Paris - and back to beeing at home for 2 minutes at a time.. everything happens so fast here, and there's always something going on. It's one of the main reasons I love living here so much, but sometimes it really gets to me. Too much emotion about something that may not be as dramatic as it seems; too many thoughts, words and feelings at the same time.
Stressful, yes - but oh, how I love it...
Now, bed (/couch) for a couple of hours before the alarm goes of at 5:30 and it's time to hop to work again.
Goodnight my lovers
Hejdå Sverige!
Bags are packed, goodbyes are said. In one hour I'm getting in the car that takes me to the airport, and back to la france! Sweden's been great, but I must say I'm quite excited to get back "home".
I leave you guys today with this little vid of my darling brother. He grows very fast...
A snowy sunday in Sweden
Coffee with dad, packing (managed to expand my luggage with yet another quite large bag, oopsie..), hanging out at Jespers, dinner with mom and lil' bro, more packing, swedish candy and Some kind of monster.
Good end of this week, and good end of this visit to Sweden. Tomorrow - coffee with les girls (minus Linda, sniff) and hopping on the plane back to gay pariiii. Woop woop!
A final goodbye
... to the year 2010. Bit of closure here on the first day of the new year. Two more days in Stockholm, then I'm kicking in 2011 in my beloved Paris!
Until then, a last little summary of the past year. Hope you guys had a fantastic new years eve!
xx
Did you do anything you've never done before this year?
Hm.. nothing I can share here. Oh wait, yes, I discovered my passion for late night swimming in dirty rivers!
Do you have any new year resolutions?
Getting my economy under some sort of control, not having to panic completely every month would be very nice.
Did any of your friends become parents this year?
Nope, but soon!
Which countries did you visit?
France and Sweden, not much moving around this year...
Which date from 2010 will you always remember?
September 13th.
What was your biggest succes this year?
Haha, biggest succes? I'll leave you guys to answer that for me, because my mind is
b l a n k.
Biggest mistake?
Ah, who has the time to regret anything? Oh, maybe slamming that door on my finger.. could have lived without that.
Best buy?
Tickets to see Axl in Bercy, definitely.
What did you spend most money on?
Probably drinks... wait; most certainly drinks.
Did anything make you really happy?
Would it be very sad if I said no? Just kidding my dears, loads of things made me very happy this year! My birthday celebration made me happy, thanks to my lovely ladies. And that's just the first thing that popped in to my head.
What songs will always remind you of 2010?
I'm from Barcelona!
Were you happier or sadder this year in comparison to previous ones?
In phases, I was probably angrier than I've been in a while (actually not sure, I'm always a bit on edge.. hm), but not sadder. Over all, I've been quite content with life this year.
What do you wish you had done more of?
Swimming maybe? Or picnicing? No wait, I did that every day this summer. Eh. Pass.
Favorite TV show?
Started watching True Blood and got hooked!
What did you do on your birthday 2010?
It wasn't only my birthday this year - it was birthday week! I got to spend it with some of the best people in the world; the festivities included a trip to Buddha Bar, balloons at the Highlander, lovely presents, champagne, dinner and candle lit cake at Chez Papa and a party at our place that proved once and for all just how great our party planning skills are!
(trick: don't plan anything, just buy loads of booze and tell everyone to bring whoever they want. Success guaranteed!)
How would you describe your style this year?
Mostly black, as usual.
The best new person you met?
Easiest question of all - Moosabel of course!
